Hydraulic road cutters, known as road blockers, are generally used at the entrance points of areas where high security is required. The purpose of using them at these points is to eliminate the danger from outside by not letting in a danger coming from outside.
To give an example, it is to prevent a vehicle loaded with bombs from entering a residential entrance and committing an act such as a terrorist attack inside, and to put an obstacle in front of the vehicle to enter the interior in order not to reflect this situation inside.
These products, which generally operate under the control of an officer, are hydraulic systems and operate with hydraulic oil pressure. The lifting force is large enough to easily lift a vehicle, and with their steel braided carcass skeleton, they show very high resistance to impacts and vehicle crashes.
WHAT IS ROAD BLOCKER?
Road blockers are systems that work with the power applied by hydraulic oil pressure to the hydraulic pistons. The system consists of a main control panel (PLC), a motor used to pump the oil, hydraulic pistons and the main steel skeleton that forms the obstacle.
With the command coming from the automation panel (open command), the engine starts to work and press the hydraulic oil into the pistons. The pistons are opened with the compressed hydraulic force and the road blocker makes the upward movement. The downward movement of the road blocker occurs with the withdrawal of the hydraulics and the downward movement is the opposite of the lifting movement. takes place.
The product, which can be operated manually, is made by manually pumping the oil with a lever arm. In case of emergency due to a power outage or a different problem, it can be moved up and down by manually pumping the lever arm.
HOW TO INSTALL ROAD BLOCKER?
First of all, before starting the assembly, the correct product must be selected in the correct dimensions. The height standard may be around 50/60 cm, but in places where very high security is required, the height can be increased up to 100 cm.
In terms of width, the positions of the doors used and the road passage widths are important. If entry and exit are made through the same door, the product width can be used variably between 2 and 5 meters.
On the application side, the area to be applied must be excavated with a work machine. Since the product is a boiler type product buried in the ground, the dimensions of the area to be excavated must be according to the dimensions of the product.
In order for the product to be used against water for many years without rotting, it is recommended to use either a submersible pump type pump or a drain structure connected to the water drain in the excavation area. If there is no water drain or there is no area where the excess water from the pump will be poured when using the pump, the lower ground part of the product is covered with gravel. For example, half a meter high gravel is filled on the ground and the product is placed on it. Thus, a ground is created for the rainwater to absorb the water of the soil at the bottom, but this method increases the possibility of the product to rot and is not recommended.
It is recommended to place red-green lights and informative traffic lights on the entrance and exit sides of the product. At the same time, a loop detector, which we call a vehicle-detecting metal mass detector, or mutually visible photocells should be used in front and behind the product. When a vehicle approaches the road blocker, if the product rises up, the vehicle on top of it should be used. It should be ensured that these sensors do not detect the vehicle in advance and initiate the lifting process, as this will cause damage and lift the vehicle up.
